She is the new face of the elementary school at Pilsensee in Seefeld: Ulrike Schreiber from the Fürstenfeldbruck district has officially been the successor to Rector Marion Otto, who is known to have retired, since August 1st.
Seefeld - Ulrike Schreiber is 53 years old and was born in Starnberg: “I grew up in the area.” Today she lives with her husband in Fürstenfeldbruck, the 27-year-old son moved out for a long time.
Ulrike Schreiber's school career began in 1991 in the Eichstätt district, where she also worked as a trainee teacher and then a teacher.
Ulrike Schreiber later moved to Munich, where she worked in Puchheim and Olching until she ran the primary school in Hattenhofen for five years.
“I've already looked at a lot of schools,” says the likeable 53-year-old and laughs.
As a result, she had a lot of great experiences and made connections.
Even if it hurts them to leave the elementary school in Hattenhofen.
Nevertheless, she wanted a change, for new impulses.
Ulrike Schreiber had explicitly applied for the elementary school at Pilsensee - after an interview with Marion Otto. “She was absolutely thrilled with her school and gave me courage,” she recalls. She then weighed it up briefly and decided to apply. “Even if I follow in very big footsteps.” The first days have now been very full of organizational work. The elementary school at Pilsensee has two school buildings, one in Oberalting and one in Hechendorf, which makes things a little more complicated, especially when starting school. You must now look at everything and get to know it. “But I've only met friendly people so far,” says Ulrike Schreiber. The pandemic demanded a lot from teachers and children, "the teachers were incredibly involved in the elementary schools".The children would have done great too. "But they now need each other."
Until now, Ulrike Schreiber commuted around 20 kilometers from her home in the Fürstenfeldbruck district to Hattenhofen. "Now there are about 20 in the other direction again," she says, and is pleased "with the very nice commute". As an enthusiastic member of the Munich Orpheus Choir, she prefers to teach music. “Singing is a wonderful way to balance things out,” says the new Rector, who also likes to hike and swim. "In the future I can then think about which lake I can swim in on the way home." Hvp
