In recent years, our beautiful country has been filled with a welcome phenomenon - culinary tours of cities that, so to speak, were not in the mainstream or the first favorite destination for hungry travelers.
We are not talking, of course, about places like Jerusalem, Acre or Jaffa, where culinary tours have become a daily routine, but about cities like Gedera, Ashdod and in our case - Netivot, where culinary tours are becoming an increasingly popular attraction.

Yes yes friends, it's time to put aside any banal, funny or lesser stigma you've heard about the cities of the periphery and the south in favor of a particularly delicious tour of the city that has decided to take matters into its own hands and does everything to market its businesses, quite rightly.

Einav Levy, a native of the place, a director, creator and social activist with a great love for the city in which she grew up and lives to this day, is behind the tours of the city and passes them on.
Levy led me between four places in different styles, each tastier and fatter than its predecessor, a welcome thing of course.

The tour opened at "Fragrances of Life", a confectionery that is considered one of the best in Israel, established in a side neighborhood in the city (and thanks to it, many more businesses were opened nearby).
Paris is a recurring motif in other places in this city, there is even a complex named after it, but Haim Dimari, the talented owner and confectioner, simply created in his small and versatile confectionery special desserts that will make you start speaking French even if you have never learned.

Our second stop was the "Paris Complex" (I told you).
Next to the huge sculpture of the Eiffel Tower in the middle of a shopping center in the city, a small but impressive branch was opened in the beauty of "Asher Promesari", where we tasted quality boutique cheeses and fish sandwiches that are hard to find in the area.

The third stop on our inverted meal (starting with dessert and ending with meats) was the fricassee of Zigdon, one of the oldest places in town, where with the rest of our strength we ate a properly fried fricassee, as before.
We finished the tour, just before I fell asleep on a bench full of satiety, while a must-shawarma stop that is considered one of the best in Israel and a conversation with its owner.

By the way, Levy organizes additional tours in the city, not only culinary, but also those that combine the tombs of the righteous in the city, the new and impressive park built in the city, and many other attractions, and you will be surprised, there are plenty.
