In Bavaria, too, there will be restrictions for unvaccinated people in the future.

Hubert Aiwanger is now again against the corona course of the CSU - and sees a "compulsory vaccination through the back door".

Munich - Anyone who has to be in quarantine due to corona and therefore cannot work has so far received wage compensation.

This compensation is paid by the employer;

however, the money can be reclaimed from the respective federal state.

A debate is now underway as to how far this regulation should be retained.

Some federal states have announced that they want to let the wage compensation for unvaccinated people expire - in Bavaria, too, there are corresponding considerations.

Economy Minister Aiwanger is outraged.

Bavaria: Aiwanger attacks CSU because of corona proposal - "Compulsory vaccination through the back door"

Aiwanger criticized the plans of several state governments.

"This is the introduction of compulsory vaccinations through the back door," said the party chairman of the Free Voters and Bavarian Vice Prime Minister on Sunday in Mainz.

In the direction of the coalition partner CSU, the Minister of Economic Affairs said: "If the CSU in Bavaria now also wants to cancel the payment of wages for unvaccinated people, we will vigorously oppose this."

The CSU had already clearly positioned itself during the week in the person of Health Minister Klaus Holetschek: "If the vaccination is reasonable and there are no health reasons against it, then at some point there is no longer any reason that this compensation for loss of earnings is ultimately paid again by the taxpayer", he said on Thursday evening (September 9th) in the ZDF program “Maybrit Illner”.

Corona in Bavaria: FW boss Aiwanger goes on a confrontation course with CSU

In the course of the pandemic, Bavaria had already paid 83 million euros for wage compensation.

It is around 600 million euros across Germany.

If someone does not want to be vaccinated against a corona infection, it should "not be at the expense of society," said Holetschek on ZDF.

"We just have to be consistent too."

The question of wage compensation is not the only topic on which the free voter boss is at odds with the coalition partners' corona policy.

In the past, Aiwanger had repeatedly taken a course of confrontation with the CSU.

After the Minister of Economic Affairs had declared that he would not be vaccinated and this was based on, among other things, “massive side effects of the vaccination, that leaves the spit away”, the political tone had become rougher.

CSU parliamentary group leader Thomas Kreuzer meanwhile did not rule out a break in the coalition - and suggested Aiwanger withdraw.

Corona in Bavaria: Aiwanger versus Holetschek - even with planned vaccination information

Aiwanger also deviated from the CSU course in the debate about vaccination information. In future, employers will be able to request information about a corona vaccination from employees in daycare centers, schools and nursing homes. Aiwanger also saw it as a "compulsory vaccination through the back door, because it means that a nurse or educator may not be hired if she is not vaccinated."

Rather,

Aiwanger asked the

Münchner Abendzeitung for

a 3G solution.

If an educator gets tested every day, she also follows the safety precautions to handle children.

“And we have a shortage of staff in the care sector anyway.

If I then no longer use the ten percent who do not want to be vaccinated, or only hire people who have been vaccinated, the care emergency becomes even greater.

Then old people do not die of a corona infection, but dehydrate because there are no more caregivers. "

Meanwhile, Aiwanger also suggested using long-term unemployed people in care.

Holetschek replied that this idea testifies to “complete ignorance” of the nursing situation.

The differences between the two ministers continue.
