Covid-19: the number of hospitalizations remains stable

Hospitals registered 10,012 patients suffering from Covid-19, six less than the day before. 2,169 are in critical care.


The number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients remains almost stable, it having barely declined between Saturday and Sunday, according to data published Sunday by Public Health France.

Hospitals registered 10,012 patients suffering from Covid-19, six less than the day before.

They were 10,410 a week earlier.

In the last 24 hours, hospitals have admitted 187 new patients.

Critical care services for their part welcome 2,129 patients, 34 of whom arrived between Saturday and Sunday.

These care units, where the most serious cases are treated, had 2,217 patients last Sunday.

In the last 24 hours, 29 Covid-19 patients (47 the day before) have died in hospitals, bringing the total toll to 115,517 since the start of the epidemic.

7,679 new contaminations

The number of new infections rose to 7,679 and the positivity rate, which measures the proportion of positive cases compared to the number of people tested, to 2.1%, continuing to decline.

Regarding vaccination, 49,637,966 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 73.6% of the total population) and 46,668,941 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 69.2% of the total population), according to the DGS.
