According to the Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Iran is training foreign militias to use drones.

The Kashan Air Force Base north of Isfahan will be used to train "terrorists from Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon in flying unmanned aerial vehicles made by Iran," Gantz said on Sunday.

The allegation comes around a month after Tehran was targeted by the global public for an alleged drone attack on a tanker operated by an Israeli shipping company off the coast of Oman.

Iran is also trying to "transfer know-how that enables the manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Gaza Strip" on Israel's southern border, Gantz said at a conference at Reichman University near Tel Aviv.

His office presented satellite images to show drones on the runways in Kashan.

Iran initially did not comment on the allegations.

Two crew members were killed in an explosion on July 29 on board Mercer Street.

The ship sailed under the Liberian flag and is a Japanese-owned oil tanker operated by the Israeli shipping company Zodiac Maritime.

The US military said explosives experts had concluded the attack was from a drone from Iran.
