Ahead of the opening of the 2021/22 season, "Israel Today" is launching a special project that examines Premier League teams in five different criteria: payment ethic, level of professionalism, envelope and conditions for players, medical-physiological and long-term thinking.
Unlike previous projects, this time the exam is through the eyes of the players, who see everything up close and experience things firsthand, without the need for filters and information brokers.
The poll was attended by no less than 35 players, Israelis and foreigners, and gave opinions on the teams in which they have played, or still play, in the last five years.
Maccabi Tel Aviv | Average score: 4.4 out of 5
Naturally, Maccabi Tel Aviv with the high budget, well-oiled system and standards that match senior Euroleague teams, is ranked in the top in almost all criteria, except for long-term thinking - a figure that can be explained, among other things, striving for excellence and desire to win at almost any cost. Other things.

Hapoel B'Shlosha | Score: 4.1
It is hard to believe that only three seasons ago, the southern team was promoted to the Premier League for the first time in history.
Since then the club has come a long way managerially and professionally, and has positioned itself in a very good position, which is evident in the scores given by the players and also in the results on the pitch, despite a modest budget relative to most league teams.

Hapoel Eilat celebrates in the arena // Oren Ben Hakon,
Hapoel Eilat Score: 3.8
Apart from the newcomer Hapoel Haifa, the southern team is the only one that only players who have played in its ranks in the last two seasons participated in the poll.
This is due to a significant change in the ownership and management of the club, which has become orderly, organized and professional under the new management during this period of time.
The welcome change in the last two years can also be seen in the scores given by the players, and it is likely that further progress will come in the near future.

Extremely high payment ethics // Alan Schieber,
Bnei Herzliya Score: 3.3
In recent years, Bnei Herzliya has been swinging on the border between the Premier League and the National League, and as can be seen in the players' scores, the results on the field are probably also a product of the conduct of the club, among other things.
Last summer we reported a change, with the appointment of a professional manager, a coach who comes from the leading youth department in the country and a new spirit, who may be able to herald positive spirits at the old club from Sharon.
