Reversal at the Top of the Weekend Cut | Yedioth Ahronoth commentators Nahum Barnea and Sima Kadmon lost their place in the top | Special: Walla! Through Direct Polls LTD, Brenze examined who the public perceives as an honest journalist in Israel. Part B - The Determinants

This time we decided on Walla!

Brenze that the survey will not check who shouts louder, who gets more likes, who is the bigger mouthpiece and who tweets best - and we chose to return to the mother base

Now it's official: News 12 journalist Amit Segal is the columnist who is perceived as the most credible in the weekend segment - according to a special Walla! Brenze. The survey was conducted by Shlomo Pilber and Tzuriel Sharon through Direct Polls LTD for Walla! Brenze, and tested the level of credibility of journalists from different coverage areas and from different platforms. The Walla! We chose to leave off the list.

In the first part, we examined who are the most reliable commentators in Israel by areas: political | Political | Economic | legal. To the full index >>>

But first, an introduction: in the last three years, the Israeli press has had to "deal" with 4 election campaigns and a global epidemic that is still giving its signals. During this period, the public need to have a good, high-quality and, above all, reliable press became more important to us than ever before.

Yes, everyone has opinions - and the position discourse is dominant: but this time we decided in Walla! Brenze that the survey will not examine who shouts louder, who gets more likes, who is mouthed bigger and who tweets the best - and we chose to return to the mother base: who is the most reliable. Who is perceived by the public as the non-biased reporter and the objective commentator. In the following sections, we will examine who is perceived as better at covering the corona and who is the presenter who is a professional and reliable authority in the eyes of the public.

And at the end of the long introduction, a methodological reservation: just as in political polls - one must remember that in the end, polls are also a limited, sometimes superficial thing, which does not necessarily faithfully reflect everything - and certainly biased and truthful for the time being.

We will also mention that many times, certainly when it comes to journalists - in the public eye there is not really a difference between credibility and popularity, as people tend to appreciate and admire those who are perceived as credible in their eyes.

We will also add that the list of journalists was compiled by Walla!

Brenze and Direct Polls LTD and it is possible that elsewhere a different list of names would have developed.

And yet, the line that guided us was an attempt to get a glimpse of how the top Israeli journalists are perceived by the general public.

Determinants: What is behind the data

Another interesting finding is against the background that Israel is today the newspaper exposed in Israel.

This fact does not really help him when it comes to public credibility

In contrast to the screen, where his colleague for News 12 is Yair Shrek who surpassed him in the level of credibility as perceived by the public, Amit Segal holds the position of the most trusted journalists in Israel in Yedioth Ahronoth. The reasons for this are understandable: its high presence on social media, as well as the power it draws from the screen as a stand-alone brand. By the way, the father's staff - editor of Makor Rishon - also shows a significant presence in the survey and places the family in the top four.

Another interesting finding is against the background that Israel is today the newspaper exposed in Israel. This fact does not really help him when it comes to public credibility, and according to the poll, weekly columnist Matti Tochfeld ranks only fifth with a moderate level of trust, with close to 60% of the public not knowing him at all. On the other hand, despite the decline in their power, Yedioth Ahronoth commentators Nahum Barnea and Sima Kadmon still dominate the top six. Together with Segal, it seems that the newspaper manages to maintain its power as a leader of the agenda by a clear margin - at least in the weekend segment and in relation to the other newspapers.

The fact that Maariv commentator Ben Caspit is second on the list is a testament to his power and probably also stems from his presence on the networks and on the radio.

The figure becomes even more valid in the face of commentator Yossi Werter from Israel, who, although the platform on which he writes does not receive much lower exposure than Maariv - the general public does not know his name at all.

In other words, that perhaps best sums up the survey data: the persona is more powerful than the platform.

The top.
