“Dallah Wenger” is the title of the exhibition hosted by the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Al-Hasakah.

The exhibition, which was well received by the audience, featured a group of copper dalals of different sizes and shapes, carpentry and mahmas tools used in the manufacture of Arabic coffee, in addition to household items that were used in the Syrian island during the past hundred years, cotton and woolen textiles, carpets, traditional dress, poetry and musical instruments.

The Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, Ahmed Al-Hussein, told SANA reporter that holding the exhibition stems from the need to preserve the heritage, which constitutes one of the main components of the popular memory, with the aim of strengthening the identity of national belonging and social ties between members of society in light of the young generations’ distance from their heritage, explaining that the Society seeks to link young people to the legacy of ancestors. And introduce them to its positive components.

The researcher Khaled Al-Atallah mentioned that he participated in the exhibition with tools and life necessities that were used by the people of the governorate during the past decades, including those related to housing, poetry, old fire ignition methods, coffee gifts and accessories, old white weapons, musical instruments such as the rabab and others.

Young woman Reem Maarouf, who attended the exhibition, pointed out the importance of holding these events and the need to target young people in particular to introduce them to their beautiful heritage and the beautiful values ​​and morals that characterize our ancient heritage.

The researcher and Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, Ahmed Al-Hussein, gave a lecture prior to the exhibition, entitled “Arabic coffee and the etiquette of presenting it.”
