A 22-year-old woman from New York

who was traveling with her fiancé by road across the country in a motorhome is missing, 

her parents reported. 

The last time she was heard from,

Gabrielle Petito was in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park in late August

when she stopped communicating with her family, according to police.

Her mother, Nichole Schmidt of Blue Point, reported her missing on Saturday night, local newspaper Newsday reported.

Petito is a 5.5 foot tall and 110 pound woman with blonde hair and blue eyes

.

He also has several tattoos, including one on his forearm that says "Let it be."

Gabrielle Petito, 22, was traveling through the United States with her boyfriend.

Joe Petito, her father, told Newsday on Sunday that Gabrielle's disappearance felt like "

drowning with her hands tied behind her back

."

"It can't be described. There's nothing you can do. You can't control anything," he said.

Petito was traveling across the country in a 2012 white Ford Transit van with Florida license plates

that police say has been found, though where it has not been reported.

Nor is the whereabouts of the girl's boyfriend known.

Gabrielle Petito spoke with her mother via video conference on Aug. 23 or 24, Schmidt said Sunday.

She added that she

had received text messages sent from her daughter's phone until Aug. 30, but she wasn't sure if her daughter had sent them.

"I just want people to keep looking and not stop until we find it," Schmidt told Newsday.

"

She's out there somewhere ... We won't stop until we find her,

" he added.

The last time Gabrielle Petito posted a photo on her Instagram account was on August 25.

There is a link on her profile to an eight-minute YouTube video, posted on August 19, showing her and a man embarking on a "truck ride of a lifetime"

across the United States.

In the video, Petito and the man can be seen driving,

hiking, and camping on different roads, parks, and beaches across the country.
