Study shows what could make the delta variant of the new coronavirus more contagious
Delta variant would spread as easily as chickenpox 0:50
“If it is more communicable, we have more children with diseases, we have more children with symptomatic diseases and more children end up in the hospital.
We haven't seen any data yet to suggest that if someone gets the delta variant it is more serious in a given person, but we are definitely seeing more illnesses. "
Walensky said the greatest risk for COVID-19 remains in unvaccinated individuals and communities.
“This virus is an opportunist, it will go to places where people are not vaccinated, where people are not vaccinated.
The best thing we can do for our children is surround them with people who are vaccinated when they are eligible to be vaccinated. "
