At the beginning of the year, the 43-year-old traveled to her home country South Africa and has stayed there to this day.
Allegedly she had an ear, nose and throat infection, at least that's what the Principality of Monaco announced.
After an operation and a breakdown, rumors arose that she and Prince Albert would split up.
Her husband visited her with their twins after the operation and demonstrated unity, but then returned to Monaco after only a week.
And as if that weren't enough for the monarch and her family, the mother of two now has to worry about daughter Gabriella from afar: The six-year-old is currently in a wheelchair.

Together with her aunt Caroline von Hannover, her father's eldest sister, Gabriella and her twin brother Jaques attended the annual international dog show in Monaco.
Even if she couldn't be there, her mother Charlène published photos of the visit on her Instagram account.
The pair of twins visibly enjoyed the contact with the dogs, stroked them and cuddled with the cute four-legged friends.

However, the pictures also showed that Gabriella is currently sitting in a wheelchair and had to be pushed through the exhibition by her relatives.
As several media reports, the little one is said to have broken a leg and therefore sat in the wheelchair with a plaster cast.

For Charlène, these photos must be painful.
Gabriella seems to have had a happy time at the dog show despite her cast foot and wheelchair.
However, due to her stay in South Africa, the monarch cannot be there for her daughter and comfort her.
Apparently her sister-in-law Caroline and her daughter Charlotte Casiraghi step in and take care of them.
For the princess, one can only hope that her streak of bad luck will soon be over.
