The Daraa Education Directorate returned pupils and students of several schools in the city of Daraa to their primary schools after conducting a temporary transfer operation for them due to the presence of immigrant families from the Daraa al-Balad area residing there, after the parents returned to their homes and performed emergency maintenance for these schools.
Engineer Manhal Al-Amarin, Director of Education, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the schools whose students returned to are Hittin, Thalat Al-Nataqain, and Maysaloon, noting that the directorate conducted emergency maintenance for them, including cleaning and installing defects, and repairing doors and windows.
Al-Amarin pointed out that at the beginning of the school year, the directorate conducted a transfer of students from these schools to other schools, forcing them to work in the morning and evening shifts, noting that the directorate, upon the return of the expatriate parents to their neighborhoods, assessed the conditions in the schools and carried out the necessary maintenance and returned the students to them.

A comprehensive evaluation of Daraa Al-Balad’s schools, and it was found that five schools in them need restoration work. The restoration period ranges between one week and a month, depending on the damage suffered by these schools. These schools are Al-Balad First, Al-Baath and Al-Asma, all of which are for basic education and the Women’s Arts High School for secondary education.
He pointed out that 4,000 students were transferred to other schools within Daraa al-Balad, and the shift system was restored in them until the completion of the restoration work, noting that the directorate would immediately start the work of restoring Daraa al-Balad neighborhood schools after the deployment of Syrian Arab Army units and the return of security and stability to the neighborhood.
