Maisach - After the walk of a 43-year-old from the Starnberg district and her pony Wotan, a brown Icelander, got out of hand on Sunday morning, September 12th, it came to a happy end thanks to the courageous intervention of a policewoman.

"Sunday morning, around 7 o'clock, the owner of the pony went for a walk with Wotan when he broke free and ran away," explains police press spokeswoman Sina Dietsch.

A search of our own was initially unsuccessful.

A short time later, the emergency control center informed the federal police that a horse was in the track area in Maisach.

"For this reason, the main connection from Augsburg to Munich had to be closed for just under 45 minutes," added police chief inspector Martin Hofmann.

A patrol from the federal police and the state police then went to the site.

In the vicinity of the Gernlinden stop, an officer of the state police and herself a horse owner was able to catch the runaway pony and use her handcuffs to lead it to the street.

A local resident, who observed what was happening, offered her garden as a stopover for Wotan until his owner arrived with the horse trailer.

When we met again, everyone involved was visibly happy and relieved.
