The Interior Ministers Gérald Darmanin and Health Olivier Véran greeted Monday, September 13 in Isère the memory of the civil security mechanic who died the day before in a helicopter accident in the Vercors which also left four injured.

The two ministers confirmed the "
heavy toll
" of the day before after the accident of the mountain rescue helicopter which crashed in the afternoon with five people on board near Villard-de-Lans (Isère ).
They said they did not know more at this point about what caused the device to fall.
The mechanic will have the Legion of Honor
The victim was a 42-year-old mechanic, a “
very professional civil security agent
,” said Darmanin, who met his family with Véran at the Versoud aerodrome, near Grenoble.
He should be decorated with the order of the Legion of Honor, he added.

The five men - the mechanic, the pilot, a doctor from the SAMU and two gendarmes from the PGHM (High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon) - were preparing to rescue a mountain biker in difficulty, their fifth intervention of the day, when the accident s is produced, he said.

The helicopter revised "ten days before"
Asked about the causes of the accident, he said "

had known its annual revision ten days before

".
Sunday, the Grenoble prosecutor's office announced that it had opened an investigation and seized the air transport research section based in Roissy as well as the Isère gendarmerie group to try to shed light on this tragedy.
