Irschenberg

- Whether someone had a Markl, the audience asked with a laugh at the landing on the unlit staircase and carried the “running gag” of the play outside with them: That the “execution” in the black comedy of the same name is difficult, among other things, is due to this explains that the timer for the execution room only works with coins. The Irschenberger Theater had already played Bernd Späth's play once, and after ten years it is now coming onto the stage under the direction of Steffi Baier.

They had long considered whether it was time to stage a theater, says Sepp Grundbacher after the long applause from the enthusiastic guests in the hall at the landlord in Loiderding. Grundbacher is clearly marked by the stage appearance, beer on his face, cleaning water on the torn suit. Full commitment, again. "I have the feeling that we managed to make you have a nice evening." Indeed.

Grundbacher himself had made a significant contribution in the role of the temporary executioner, who was brought out of the pension because his successor had injured himself at football the day before the execution. When, while sorting out all the necessary things, stunned, he states that you don't do any sport the day before because “you can't postpone an execution because the Libero is fouled”, it quickly becomes clear that for 28 years of service, the focus has always been on his job . Only his involvement as secretary at the philatelist association was also justified. He should be honored for this. On the day of all things, on which he is supposed to transport the murderer Lorenz Demleitner (Katharina Grundbacher) by hanging into the afterlife. And that goes on.

The delinquent overslept.

The execution room is in a sorry state.

The hangman, dressed in the best costume for the honor, can only open the entrance door with Demleitner's help, because the lock is stuck.

Wonderful discussions of practical things up to life-philosophical considerations relax, which alone would be worth a visit to the theater.

Also because of the content, but above all because of their brilliant performance on an almost empty stage.

It is no coincidence that the Irschenbergers themselves draw parallels with Karl Valentin and Monty Python in their announcement.

Full commitment and unexpected twists and turns

This is complemented in a congenial way by the delegation of the postage stamp friends (Gusti and Thomas Huber, Sepp Kröll, Andi Liedschreiber, Hans Nirschl), who suddenly come to the honored with a happy rumble and turn the conversation into a hearty spectacle. In the Leiterwagl they not only brought certificates and gifts with them, but also snacks and beer, and so after the formalities it becomes fun.

The climax should be the execution, which takes an unexpected turn when the shrewd Demleitner uses the general excitement caused by the appearance of the regional court president and his adlatus (Monika Eyrainer and Gerti Reichenberger) to turn the event in a direction that is comfortable for him. The cleaning lady (Resi Krause), who with her apron and stoic persistence fulfills all the clichés in her work, would have been less monosyllabic. One or the other snappy word would have complemented her appearance well.

Due to the feedback received so far, the Irschenberger Theater has scheduled further performances at the landlord in Loiderding: on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September 21, 22 and 23 (ticket: 16 euros).

Start is always at 8 p.m.

Since there is only one act with just over an hour playing time due to the corona, the piece is absolutely suitable for weekday evenings.

Already from 6 p.m. there will be food and drinks with musical accompaniment in the beer garden.
