The Moosinning neighborhood aid has found a new board.

Three young mothers are now at the head of the club.

Moosinning

- optimism instead of frustration: Last year, the future of Neighborhood Aid (NBH) Moosinning looked bleak.

There were no candidates for the new board in sight.

The new elections could now take place on Saturday - and with them a generation change was successfully completed.

At the head of the association are now three young mothers who have only been living in the community for a few years and want to get involved here.

At the beginning of 2020, this was not yet foreseeable.

Even the dissolution of the association, which had existed since 1996, was already under discussion at the time.

Elfriede Kastenmaier (69) was only the second chairwoman when she took over the management of neighborhood help in 2000.

Since then, Fini Dendl (75) has been at her side as a deputy.

Now both and other long-standing board members would like to take a step back.

Kristin Fischer, 32-year-old mother of three, is the new chairwoman

“We have been trying to quit for a while.

At some point the desire is simply no longer there, ”said Kastenmaier after her 25 years of engagement.

At the annual general meeting at the Oberwirt she was able to announce: “We have found successors.

We are very pleased that it continues.

I'm really relieved. "

Kristin Fischer was elected as the new chairwoman of the 116-member association.

The 32-year-old is the mother of three children and has lived in Moosinning since 2019.

Through her neighbor, she became aware of the impending end of the NBH - and wanted to prevent that.

Fischer, in turn, mobilized Martina Meyer (30), who was elected second chairwoman.

The mother of two children has lived in the municipality since 2017.

"What a shame it would be if such an existing structure had to be dissolved," said Meyer, her motivation for a candidacy.

Goal: Attract new members

The third young woman in the group is Luca Maria Gemeinert, who replaces Barbara Barsch-Benkert as secretary. The 21-year-old was approached by Meyer, has a daughter and has lived in Moosinning since the previous year. "I've always been looking for something where I can volunteer," said Gemeinert. The fact that she temporarily took over the office of treasurer ensured that the members were very well received. A successor for Sabine Geltl has not yet been found. Fischer added: "The three of us will first split it up and then want to gain new members anyway."

Anni Humplmair and Annemarie Zimmermann continue as assessors. There were initially no candidates for the cash examination. Kastenmaier and the resigned assessor Edith Humplmair spontaneously agreed to take over this office. “Nothing goes from 100 to zero”, the newly elected chairwoman motivated her predecessor.

Before the new elections, Kastenmaier looked back on the 25-year history of the club. Many activities have been carried out since then, for example the gymnastics group founded in 2011 or the assembly and maintenance of the displaced’s cross. Once a year there has been a senior afternoon since 1997 and bus excursions since 2003. In between, babysitting offers and a Rose Monday party were also popular. Corona has made it quieter recently. The number of hours for support services such as driving services has decreased. The income of the association, on the other hand, increased slightly from 5700 euros (2019) to 7600 euros (as of September 2021) due to the lower level of activity.

"I didn't even know that there were men here too," said Mayor Georg Nagler in his welcoming address due to the clear female majority.

"Hats off, you are doing a great job," he praised the neighborhood help.

Nagler offered his support to the new board and encouraged the newly elected to break new ground.

This is what they intend to do.

Fischer would like to connect the younger and older generation more, for example with an afternoon of games.

And Meyer added: "We want to build new things, but also take up the existing."
