Corona has changed eating behavior.

A new study gives interesting insights into the habits of Bayer.

Munich - The Bavarian landscape ministry carried out a representative study with 8000 Bavarians and asked them about their eating habits.

Eating behavior during the Corona * pandemic was also an issue in the survey.

Almost half of the respondents have noticed a change in their shopping and eating behavior since the first lockdown.

In addition, the Bavarians prefer to eat at home.

Almost all of the respondents stated that they mainly eat their meals at home.

New study on eating behavior in Bavaria: classic rolls and pretzels are served for breakfast

60 percent of the Bayer surveyed had rolls and pretzels on the table for breakfast.

This corresponds to an average of about 66 grams per person per day.

Muesli and fruit followed at a greater distance.

The Bavarians rarely eat the classic breakfast egg as well as sausage and cheese as a snack.

At lunchtime there are meat or pasta, vegetable and potato dishes at around 30 percent.

This is followed by salads with 21 percent.

At dinner, the sandwich or sandwich is the clear winner.

A third of the respondents stated that they eat sausage or cheese bread or rolls in the evening.

This is followed by warm meals.

At 23 percent, meat dishes are just above vegetable and pasta dishes.

With drinks, the result could surprise one or the other.

It's hard to believe in the Free State: Beer only lands in 6th place on the list.

First and foremost is water with 1.5 liters per day.

This is followed by coffee or coffee drinks with just under half a liter per day.

Then come tea, soft drinks and juice spritzers.

Only then does beer come with 0.175 liters per person per day.

Representative study: Corona crisis is changing Bavarian purchasing - more regional products

As nutrition minister Michaela Kaniber explains in a press release, 44 percent of those surveyed stated that they changed their shopping behavior during the crisis. Especially fresh food from the region has increasingly found its way into the shopping baskets. It is also positive that one fifth of those surveyed want to maintain their behavior after the crisis. “These figures confirm our previous impression. If we succeed now in stabilizing and expanding this trend and this trust in local food, then the entire value chain will win, ”said the minister.

Men, on the other hand, stand out when assessing an increased consumption of finished products (59 percent) or when stocking up on basic foodstuffs (52 percent).

A third of those surveyed also stated that they had spent more time preparing food since the Corona crisis.

Findings with regard to social contacts: The one-person households greatly miss eating together and shared apartments have been cooking together more often since Corona.
