In continuation of the project of the Syrian National Band for Arab Music to honor Syrian music creators and in cooperation with Cham Wings Airlines, the band, led by Maestro Adnan Fathallah, chose to celebrate the icon of Arab music, Asmahan, who left an unforgettable imprint in the world of Arab singing and music.

The musical evening, hosted by the Opera Theater at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, was titled “Salute to Asmahan,” with the participation of the Syrian singer Waad Al-Bahri.

During her career, Asmahan enjoyed flexibility in performance and transition between genres, musical and lyrical forms, and composers with a creative voice characterized by intelligence, radiance, attractiveness and warmth. The evening program was a reflection of her career and cooperation with great composers, including Medhat Esmat, Farid al-Atrash, Muhammad al-Qasabji and Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab.

With her capable and distinguished voice, and after a 13-year absence from the opera stage, Al-Bahri, who mastered during her artistic career, performed the masterpieces of what she sang and imprinted in the memory of the Syrian and Arab audience, “Oh my love, come to me and my love.” When will you know and once entered Geneina?

The evening's program also included the performance of the songs "Nwait Adari Alamy" and "Aisha Al-Falah" and "Yatayur", "Wili Hawak Shaghel Bali", to conclude the evening with the masterpieces of the poet Ahmed Rami and the musician Farid Layali Al-Ans in Vienna.

This evening is part of a series of evenings by the Syrian National Band for Arab Music, during which it honored great Syrian figures, including Abdel Fattah Sukkar, Suhail Arafa, Suleiman Al-Issa, Nizar Qabbani and Farid Al-Atrash.

Through this honorary series, the band seeks to prove its ability to perform the most difficult Arab musical programs and document timeless Syrian works with academic and professional honesty to enrich the music library.
