Many Wolfratshausen residents do not know that and how they can get involved in urban development.

That is why the Lebendige Altstadt association informed the citizens.

Wolfratshausen

- The members of the Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen (LAW) association took a lot of time on Friday and Saturday to explain to passers-by how to participate in the ongoing citizen participation process for urban development. The response at the information stands on Sebastianisteg and Marienplatz was great. "Many citizens do not yet know that they can participate with their ideas and suggestions - or have not internalized it yet," said ex-LAW chairman Hans-Werner Kuhlmann, explaining the purpose of the two-day campaign.

Citizens of all ages stopped in front of the information desks on Friday.

“Most of them told us that something finally had to happen here.

Young, new families in particular were very interested, ”reported Ernst Gröbmair.

The LAW chairman, who was elected only a few days ago, also spoke to day tourists who only visit the rafting town occasionally.

He learned from a woman from Munich that she would welcome a largely car-free Markstrasse with lots of green spaces.

Of course, he also saw passers-by with low expectations.

"It's all in vain because the city councils do what they want anyway," remarked a man who prefers to remain anonymous.

Angelika Imsel, on the other hand, clearly positioned herself for the upgrading of the old town between the music school in the north and Littig-Villa in the south, decided by the city council.

"I think that's good because a little more flair can't hurt," said the Wolfratshauser.

The planned relocation of the fountain on Marienplatz, however, was viewed critically by many citizens.

“We shouldn't destroy what is already beautiful,” said Anja Beck-Dinzinger.

According to her own words, she moved to Loisachstadt 16 years ago and, above all, spoke out in favor of upgrading the area around Marktstrasse.

“There is still a lot of potential there,” said Beck-Dinzinger.

The former Green District Councilor Lucia Schmidt, who briefly stopped at the LAW information booth on Saturday morning, made a similar statement.

"It would be great if there were more plants, benches and play areas for children on Marktstrasse," said Schmidt.

The Weidach couple Hamit and Meltem Cordan considered the information campaign of the Lebendige Altstadt association to be important.

"It is good that the possibility of citizen participation has been made public again", praised Meltem Cordan.

As reported several times in our newspaper, citizens can see the current status of the preliminary draft planning of the old town upgrade and comment directly on the digital participation platform of the Deggendorf University of Technology, PUBinPLAN, until September 23rd.

A public information evening will follow on October 5th in the Loisachhalle.

There is the opportunity to discuss concepts in person with Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner and the architects from the Mahl-Gebhard office.
