Covid-19: what we know about the Delta variant
Boris Johnson presented his strategy against the Covid on Tuesday for a winter that could be
“bumpy”
.
In order to avoid new confinements at all costs, a variety of measures have been unveiled.
The main weapon will remain vaccination and the government has notably planned a
“booster” program
offering a third booster dose to certain categories of the population.
"The Covid is still there and remains a risk"
declared the Prime Minister, while expressing confidence in the capacity to
"protect the gains that we have made together"

For Boris Johnson, this decision - of which it is difficult to assess the need and the impact - will prevent a winter saturation of hospitals as well as a new lockdown of the country.
