Today, 1330 male and female students took the standard exam for admission to the English Department of Al-Baath University in Homs for the academic year 2021-2022.
Dr. Talal Al-Khalil, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Baath University, explained that the questions are unified by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and they consist of 50 multiple-choice questions that include reading, comprehension, vocabulary, skills in grammar, composition, exact writing and language ability, noting that the mark of success in this exam is 50. degree, and success in it is a condition for progression to the English language department comparison.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has adopted the standard exam as an additional criterion in addition to the high school for students wishing to apply for differentiation for the English and French language departments, starting from the 2019-2020 academic year.
