The new ambassadors of Mexico, Spain, Estonia, Greece, the Vatican, and for the first time also the Kingdom of Bahrain, submitted their treaty letters to President Yitzhak Herzog, with the beginning of their role as ambassadors of their countries.
Following the inauguration ceremony, President Herzog held a political working meeting with the new Bahrain ambassador, Khaled Yusuf al-Jalma.
President Herzog opened his speech in Arabic and wished: "The people of Israel welcome you, Your Excellency. Brave countries are taking bold steps. The Abrahamic Accords were the result of the vision and power of states and leaders. The developing partnership between our countries is exemplary throughout the Middle East, and I hope countries Others in our area will draw inspiration from your example.
"At this time, as new and credible reports of Iran's progress towards nuclear weapons arrive, it is more important than ever to be united in the fight against extremist forces working to undermine stability and peace in the region."
Al-Jalama said: "It is a great honor to be the first Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Israel. Peace is the strategic choice of the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Majesty the King believes that dialogue, understanding and trust are sublime principles and the main basis for cooperation between peoples I believe that this historic step will lay a solid foundation for relations between our countries.
"Through my role, and in cooperation with the Israeli government, I will try to make our relationship constructive and beneficial to both sides."
