The City Police arrested four people on Tuesday who had
set up a fire station trucho
in a property taken from Barracas.
In a court hearing, the four defendants signed an agreement by which they were
sentenced to a year and a half in suspended prison.
The penalty was approved by judge Rodolfo Ariza Clérici.
The investigation began with a complaint from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, noting the existence of an organization of people that under the name of
“Metropolitan Volunteer Firefighters of Barracas
” operated without authorization.
"They got into an intervention by the City firefighters and obstructed it,"
explained Alberto Carita, director of Civil Defense for the City.
There is no information on the date on which the false barracks began to operate.

Following the complaint, agents from the City Police Department of Narcocriminality and Civil Defense personnel inspected the property where the alleged barracks operated, located at 2500 Suárez Avenue.
In that operation they verified that the place was not authorized and that
those who claimed to be firefighters were not

During the inspection of the property, workers from the Edesur company found
connections to two illegal light phases that did not have a meter
.
They even found a plaque dated July 29, 2015 that supposedly officially recognized the barracks.
In addition, the band had two
fire trucks
that circulated without authorization.
According to sources in the case, they used to
collect money
from residents of the area.

The tenant of the property explained that the part where the barracks operated illegally
had been usurped some time
ago by this same organization.
"As a result of the numerous irregularities detected such as clandestine electricity and water connections, illegal overhead wiring, exposed wiring, lack of limitation, existence of combustible materials, it was possible to establish the precariousness in the general conditions of the barracks and the lack of authorization to operate ", explained sources of the case.
With these elements, the investigators ordered the arrest of four suspects, who recognized the crime and agreed to the penalty in an abbreviated trial.
