Millions of Jews across the country will mark Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, tomorrow, Tuesday, Tishrei (Wednesday), with fasting and prayer.

The fast will begin shortly after 6 p.m., and will last about 25 hours.

After last year was marked today under the restrictions of the general closure, Yom Kippur 5772 also applies in parallel with a wave of morbidity in Corona, but with much more moderate restrictions. All the details - in the guide in front of you.

When does the fast come in - and when does it come out?

Fasting entry times vary slightly from place to place.

In Jerusalem, the fast will begin at 18:09;

In Haifa at 18:18;

In Tel Aviv at 18:26;

And in Be'er Sheva at 6:27 p.m.



Accordingly, the fast will depart in Jerusalem the next day, Thursday, at 19:19, while in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Beer Sheva it is expected to depart at 19:21.

And what is expected to be the weather?

The eve of Yom Kippur and Yom Kippur itself will be characterized by cooling of the weather, and even local rains - according to the Meteorological Service forecast.



Tomorrow, Wednesday, temperatures are expected to drop and the weather will be partly cloudy, with local rain possible during the day, mainly in the north and mountains.

The trend will continue on Thursday as well: temperatures will be below normal for the season, local rains will fall in the north until noon - and there may also be a drizzle on the coastal plain, which may develop into light local rain.

Are there any restrictions?

After the previous Yom Kippur was held under general closure restrictions, this time too the holy day will be celebrated in parallel with the eruption of Corona.



As a rule, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, synagogues are required to check a green sign at the entrance to the compound if more than 50 worshipers gather there.

Children from the age of 12 can enter based on PCR tests (rapid test is not valid).

The ministry's recommendation is to hold the prayers in open spaces.



It should be noted that from Wednesday at 12:00, on the eve of Yom Kippur, until Friday - there will be no corona tests at the PCR testing complexes.

When will public transport operate?

The trains throughout Wednesday will operate on an increased Friday format, with the addition of trains on the axis between Tel Aviv and Nahariya.

A special line will operate from Nahariya to Ben Gurion Airport, which will stop at Acre, Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Haim, Hutsot Hamifratz, Central Bay, Haifa Merkaz Hashmona, Haifa Bat Galim, Haifa Hof Hacarmel, Atlit, Binyamina, Caesarea, Pardes Hanna, Hadera West, Netanya, Netanya Sapir, Beit Yehoshua, Herzliya and all Tel Aviv stations. The trains will also operate on the Beer Sheva-Herzliya; Beit Shemesh-Tel Aviv Central lines; Beit She'an-Haifa Hof Hacarmel; Carmiel-Haifa Hof Hacarmel; and Dimona-Beer Sheva North. The activity will end in hours noon.
