Ida Noodle, a Zionist prisoner and social activist, passed away at the age of 90
Noodle, a symbol of the struggle for immigration to Israel from the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s that aroused interest and sympathy all over the world, has died.
As part of her struggle, she even ran four years in prison.
In Israel, she worked for the education of the children of the new immigrants through the "Mother to Mother" organization.

Ida Noodle, a symbol of the struggle for immigration from the Soviet Union that aroused interest and sympathy all over the world, passed away this week at the age of 90.
Noodle was one of the most prominent figures in the struggle of Jewish immigrants who demanded to leave the Soviet Union and come to Israel between 1987-1971.
During those years she was even sent to four years in prison.

She came to Israel in 1987 and has lived there ever since.
In Israel, she worked for the education of the children of the new immigrants through the "Mother to Mother" organization.
In the early 1990s she published the autobiography Hand in the Dark, which has even been translated into several languages.
"With great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved aunt, a special woman and a role model for all of us, Ida Noodle," her niece wrote on Facebook.
