Significant price increases were recorded in items of fresh vegetables and fruits, which rose by 2.6%, and culture and entertainment, which rose by 1.6%.
Significant price decreases among the main items were recorded in the clothing and footwear item, which decreased by 1.7%.
From the beginning of the year, the consumer price index rose by 2.3%, and in the last 12 months to August, the consumer price index rose by 2.2%.
The price index of residential construction inputs rose by 0.6% in August, and significant price increases were recorded in the item "Materials and products - total" which rose by 1.2%.

The price index of manufacturing output to domestic destinations rose by 0.9% in August 2021. The prices of refined petroleum products also rose by 2.5%, and the food industry rose by 1.5%.

Rise in apartment prices
With the publication of the index, the Central Bureau of Statistics also presents the change in housing prices - a figure that is not weighted in the consumer price index.
The prices examined are between June and July this year, and a comparison with the prices of transactions made in May-June shows that prices rose by 1.3%.
In the segmentation of changes in apartment prices by district, it appears that in Jerusalem there was an increase of 3.5%;
Central District with an increase of 2%, in Tel Aviv there is an increase of 1.3%, in the south - 0.2% and in Haifa - 0.1%.
In contrast, the Northern District recorded a decrease of 0.5%.
At the same time, in the segmentation of changes in housing prices by district compared to the corresponding period last year, price increases were recorded in all districts: North with an increase of 9.9%, Jerusalem - 8.8%, Central - 8.6%, Tel Aviv - 7.5%, South - 6.4% and Haifa - 5.1 %.
In the price index of new dwellings, it was found that their prices rose in these months, compared with the previous months by 1.6%, thus completing an increase of 12.5% compared with the corresponding period last year.
The rate of transactions carried out with government support and participated in the calculation is 20.4%, compared with 19.4% in the previous period.
