The reconstruction of the Poing and Heimstetten S-Bahn stations is taking longer than planned.

At the start of school there was still no chaos.

The railway justifies the delay with delivery bottlenecks.

Poing - The feared chaos on the first day of school did not materialize: On Tuesday morning there was enough space in the buses of the rail replacement service (SEV) at the Poing S-Bahn station.

Both in those of the MVV, which travel between Poing and Grub, as well as in the additional bus used by the municipality of Poing between the Poing and Markt Schwaben train stations.

When it left at 7.30 a.m., there were only a handful of people / students on the bus.

The municipality of Poing offers additional shuttle services to Markt Schwaben

This offer will continue to be available for the next two weeks, the municipality's buses leave between 6.30 a.m. and 9 a.m. from the north side of the station every half hour to the Markt Schwaben S-Bahn station.

The municipality has set up this additional service especially for high school students who have to travel from Poing to Markt Schwaben.

To be recognized by the bus display "SEV Markt Schwaben".

According to the town hall, the regular SEV from Markt Schwaben to Grub is available from noon or in the afternoon.

There, schoolchildren and everyone else can change to the replacement buses to Poing.

Grub stop as a junction

According to its own statements, Deutsche Bahn itself has no capacity for a rail replacement service between Poing and Markt Schwaben.

In response to a request from our newspaper, the press office informed us by e-mail as a reason: “With the end of the school holidays, numerous vehicles from the bus companies commissioned will be required again for school and regular transports.

For this reason, the timetable of the rail replacement service for the Heimstetten and Poing stops had to be adjusted for the two weeks between September 13 and September 26.

The SEV buses therefore now operate on the Heimstetten-Grub-Poing route.

The Grub station is therefore the central transfer point for all passengers from / to Heimstetten and Poing. "

Deutsche Bahn apologizes

In order to ensure sufficient capacity here, the MVV has increased the frequency of the buses.

The SEV is on the road every ten minutes during the day and additional vehicles (large articulated buses) are used during rush hour, informs a railway spokesman.

He reports: "According to our observation, the capacity of the bus replacement service was sufficient yesterday morning, there were still free seats available on the buses." Passengers apologize. "

Poing S-Bahn station: delivery bottlenecks cause delays

The reason for the further SEV is the delay in the construction sites at the Poing and Heimstetten S-Bahn stations.

Both are being made barrier-free and, according to the original plan, should have been completed in time for the start of school so that the S2 can stop there again.

But: Due to delayed deliveries, work on the platforms must be extended by two weeks beyond September 13, up to and including September 26, informs Deutsche Bahn (DB).

Poing: Completion in spring 2022

Specifically, the group reports: “The currently existing delivery bottlenecks in the construction industry unfortunately also affect the DB construction sites in Poing and Heimstetten in this case.

For example, the planned lighting equipment and lighting masts could not be delivered on time by the contracted companies and suppliers despite great efforts.

DB has reacted and adjusted the construction process and arranged for temporary work so that as much work as possible can still be completed in order to keep the impact on passengers as low as possible.

From September 27th, the S-Bahn will stop again in Poing and Heimstetten.
