Iranian-backed Iraqi militia vehicles were attacked from the air on the border with Syria, Arab media and the Syrian Organization for Human Rights reported tonight (Tuesday).
According to reports, the vehicles of the Iraqi Hezbollah battalions occurred near the border town of al-Bukhmal, which serves as a main route for the transfer of forces and weapons from eastern Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said it was estimated that unmanned aerial vehicles from the International Coalition were responsible for the attack, but denied any involvement in the attack.
In recent months, U.S. aircraft have attacked Shiite militias several times following rocket and drone launches at U.S. forces in Iraq and
Syria.
