The mother of a young woman from New York who disappeared when she was crossing the country with her fiancé in a truck pleaded on Monday for clues to help locate her: "She could be alone anywhere, she could be trapped in nature and need help. I hope everything is. the world is looking for her, "said Nichole Schmidt of her daughter, Gabrielle Petito, 22. 

The latest information that is known about the young woman is that she was in Grand Teton National Park, in Wyoming, at the end of August, when she stopped communicating with her family, according to the police.

The vehicle, a white 2012 Ford Transit with a Florida license plate, was found in the city of North Port, south of Tampa, the local Police Department reported.

"We currently have no definitive information that a crime has occurred here in North Port," police said in a statement.

"That said, the circumstances are strange. Therefore, we are actively gathering the details and any evidence to help find the necessary answers."

Police have ruled out Laundrie as a suspect and have also not linked him to the disappearance.

The authorities did not clarify on Monday the whereabouts of the woman's fiancé and he did not answer the questions posed by this medium.

The young woman's mother explained that the couple met in high school and started dating a couple of years ago.

Petito later moved to Florida to live with him.

Schmidt said she was "generally" concerned about her daughter taking a road trip, but felt confident about the route they had both planned.

"They were together, they had a plan, they had an itinerary. We were excited about them," he told the KSL station.

The couple left Blue Point, New York, on July 2.

"She wanted to cross the country in a truck, live life in a truck and live free. This was her dream," he said.

Gabrielle Petito, 22, was traveling by road across the United States with her fiancé.

Petito left extensive testimony of his trip on social networks, but the publications were reduced towards the end of August.

Schmidt said the couple left Salt Lake City for Grand Teton National Park around Aug. 24, when he claims he last spoke to his daughter via FaceTime video call.

She received multiple messages sent from her daughter's phone as of August 30, although she claimed not to be sure if her daughter had sent them.

The last time Petito posted on his Instagram account was on August 25.

This is a video in which Petito and Laundrie can be seen driving, hiking, and camping on different roads, parks, and beaches across the country.

The young woman is five feet five inches tall and weighs 110 pounds.

He has blonde hair and blue eyes, as well as several tattoos, including one on his forearm that says "let it be."
