The mother of a girl who was abducted from her home when she was 6 years old is finally reunited with her daughter after nearly 14 years, local authorities in Florida reported Monday.
Angelica Vences Salgado alerted authorities on September 2 after receiving a message via
social media
from someone claiming to be Jacqueline Hernandez, the girl she had not seen and had not heard from since 2007, according to the Clermont Police Department.
Hernandez was allegedly abducted by her father
, Pablo Hernandez, in Clermont, Florida.
In December of that year, an arrest warrant was issued against him for this alleged crime.

In the social media message,
the woman claiming to be Jacqueline Hernandez told Vences Salgado that she was in Mexico,
and asked him to meet her Friday at the entry point in Laredo, Texas, according to police.

Officials "determined that the woman was indeed Jacqueline Hernandez, who was abducted from her mother in 2007. At approximately 4:55 pm,
Jacqueline, now 19, was successfully reunited with her mother
," police said in a press release that included a photo of the women smiling and hugging.

No details have been released about Jacqueline Hernandez's life since her abduction. On Tuesday his father's situation was unknown. It was unclear if authorities are still looking for him.
