Dozens of Palestinians participated in a solidarity stand in the cities of Tubas and Salfit in the West Bank today in support of the prisoners and condemning the crimes of the Israeli occupation.
According to Wafa Agency, the participants in the two vigils called by the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, the Prisoners’ Club and the Palestinian National Action Factions raised Palestinian flags and pictures of the six Palestinian prisoners who liberated themselves from Gilboa prison last Monday, and banners condemning the violations and crimes of the occupation against the prisoners.
The participants stressed that the violations that the prisoners are subjected to in the occupation prisons are a direct targeting of the captive movement, calling on the international community to provide it with international protection as it faces systematic killing at the hands of its jailers.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
