US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will enter a virtual summit next Friday with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco to mark a year since the signing of the "Abraham Accords".
The virtual summit is the most active and public support step on the part of the Biden administration when it comes to the "Abraham Agreements" which were the greatest achievement of former President Donald Trump in the field of foreign policy.
"Secretary of State Blink will convene the meeting to mark a year of the Abrahamic Accords and discuss ways to deepen ties between the two countries and build a more prosperous region," a senior U.S. State Department official said.
Israeli officials, Amritim and Bahraini told Walla!
In recent weeks they have been urging the Biden administration to hold events marking a year since the Abrahamic Accords, but the Americans have not agreed to commit.
According to them, it is only in recent days that the US State Department has begun to address the issue and has offered to hold the virtual summit.

The signing of the Avraham agreements in the White House, September 15, 2020 (Photo: Reuters)
The Avraham agreements were signed in the White House on September 15, 2020 by President Trump, then-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. The Abrahamic agreements included normalization of relations between Israel and the two Gulf states. While Israel and the United Arab Emirates signed a peace treaty, Israel and Bahrain signed an agreement a few weeks later to establish full diplomatic relations.
In October 2020, Israel and Sudan announced the normalization of relations between them. In December, after Trump had already lost the election, Morocco announced the resumption of diplomatic relations with Israel. In return, the Moroccans received American recognition of their sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara.
Biden supported the "Abrahamic Agreements" back when he was the US presidential candidate. After entering the White House he expressed renewed support for the agreements. However, the Biden administration was ambivalent about the use of the term "Abraham agreements" - which was directly related to and symbolized Trump's legacy.

Since taking office, Biden has made several decisions that have helped stabilize the agreements.
It did not cancel the F-35 deal with the UAE, signed by the Trump administration as part of the context of the peace agreement between Israel and the UAE.
Biden also decided not to back down from Trump's decision to recognize Moroccan sovereignty in Western Sahara.
Revoking Trump's decision could have hurt normalization between Israel and Morocco.
The Biden administration has also completed the transfer of the $ 700 million aid package promised by the Trump administration to Sudan as part of normalization with Israel.
The Biden administration is currently trying to complete the agreement between Sudan and Israel, which has not yet been officially signed.
The Sudanese are interested in holding a celebratory signing ceremony at the White House that will make it clear that the Biden administration supports and backs the move.
Biden administration officials told Walla!
Because they are working with several Arab and Muslim countries to persuade them to normalize relations with Israel as well.
