- Rodricesar (@ Rodricesar1) September 11, 2021

Hi Rodricesar, the Janssen vaccine requires a single dose and therefore you have already completed it.

It is very likely that in the next few weeks it will be known in the United States if people who have already received a dose of the Janssen vaccine will need a booster.

@drhuerta doctor good day, a month ago I tested positive for Covid, I was vaccinated while being infected, they gave me the astrazeneca vaccine, they would recommend that I wait a month and a half, and start the full scheme again, in the municipality where I live they will be able to get the pfizer vaccine this week I can apply

- paola (@ paola26263775) September 6, 2021

Hello Paola, you have already received the first dose of vaccine and you should only complete the second dose at any time after being discharged from the disease.

Remember that the immunity acquired by natural disease protects you for a minimum of 90 days.

@drhuerta wanted to ask him;

my son and I were infected 4 days after receiving the 1st dose of Pfizer;

should we repeat the complete vaccination schedule?

Or from what day should we get the 2nd dose?

Thanks!

- @blues (@ 2020missing) September 7, 2021

Hello Blues, you have already received the first dose of the vaccine and you only have to complete the scheme with one more dose.

They can do it at any time.

Questions about the vaccine against covid-19, pregnant women and children

@drhuerta I want to know about the vaccination of children under 12 years of age.

What studies have been done on which vaccine is good for that ..?

In my country they are considering vaccinating children with a single dose of pfizer, is that correct ..?

What is the logic behind it .. ??

@CNNEE .. Thank you

- Andres JM (@jaramarcoandres) September 10, 2021

Hello Andrés, the phase 3 studies are quite advanced with the Pfizer vaccine, and it is expected that by the end of September or October they will be ready to be sent to the Food and Drug Administration, the FDA, for authorization for emergency use .

Remember that children are not small adults and that the correct dose of the vaccine for them needs to be determined, which can only be done in clinical trials.

Dr, is it convenient to inoculate my children with the Pfizer vaccine?

They are 12 and 15 years old.

But I wonder if the vaccine has gone through what it takes to make it safe for them.

Thanks

- Reyna (@Rey_FuentesM) September 9, 2021

Hello Reyna, so far it has been determined that the benefits of vaccines in adolescents far outweigh the risks associated with their use.

Remember that adolescents, despite not suffering a high incidence of complications, are known to be contagious very frequently.

Dr. How many weeks pregnant can one be vaccinated, woman?

It is relevant or not the one with Pfizer or Sinopharm vaccine.

I will appreciate your opinion.

- Miltong (@ Miltong3) September 6, 2021

Hello Milton, the United States CDC recommends vaccination at any time during pregnancy.

However, because many pregnancies end in miscarriage within the first twelve weeks, many obstetrician physicians prefer to wait until after that time to advise vaccination.

This is because if a miscarriage occurred after vaccination it would be very difficult to convince the woman that the miscarriage was not caused by the vaccine.

Questions about vaccine combination, booster doses, and intervals

Dr. Huerta good night.

Will more doses of vaccines be needed?

- Ros123 (@ Ros12320) September 10, 2021

That's a question that still has no answer, Ros.

It is quite possible that regular vaccinations will be needed in the future, but that has yet to be determined.

Remember that the massive use of vaccines in the population is less than a year old, and it is too early to draw conclusions.

@drhuerta hello Dr. I am from Argentina, I am already 3 months after having given the 1 dose of Astrazeneca, can I give myself if the appointment for the vaccine does not arrive, how 2 doses, Pfizer or Moderna? ... What do you suggest? ..

- mabe (@MabeMabeqac) September 7, 2021

Hello Mabe, the Ministry of Health of the province of Buenos Aires announced that people who had received the first dose of Sputnik V could complete it with AstraZeneca or Moderna.

Unfortunately the study did not mention what to complete the first dose of AstraZeneca with, which is your case.

In Spain and other countries it is approved that the first dose of AstraZeneca can be completed with Pfizer.

I suggest you talk to your doctor.

@drhuerta Good afternoon Dr. A person who has had covid and 6 months later receives the 1st dose of Sinopharm will only get maximum protection with the 2nd dose or does he already have it with the 1st (for having had covid)?

as with the other vaccines, do you have to wait 2 weeks?

🙏🏽

- Rodrigo Delgado (@rodrikdelgado) September 6, 2021

Excellent question, Rodrigo.

Antibody production after a dose of the vaccine has been studied in a person who already had COVID-19 to be very high.

However, vaccination schedules recommend completing both doses.

Good morning Dr. I had covid for the first time on April 7 with mild symptoms.

Then on August 10 after 4 months I was infected again and it was moderate.

On September 09 I took the quantitative antibody test and I have IgG: 35.5 When should I get vaccinated?

- Mario Ruiz (@ MarioRu07778831) September 11, 2021

Hello Mario, I am very sorry that you have had covid-19 twice, that is very rare, but since it happened to you, it can happen.

You could be vaccinated at any time, although remember that natural disease gives you protection for at least three months or ninety days.

Questions about the protection provided by the vaccine

@drhuerta This week my in-laws, already vaccinated, went to spend a few days with their family.

How advisable would it be to visit them when they return?

Can I go with my unvaccinated 3 year old?

Should we wait for them to quarantine?

Thank you!!

- Yorch (@YorcheduE) September 10, 2021

Hi Yorch.

Your in-laws are protected, and while it is possible for them to become infected and infect you or your child, that is rare.

If you want to be fully protected, visit them after the 10th day of their return.

@drhuerta dear doctor, good afternoon.

I already have the 2 doses with Pfizer, if I get infected ... what are my chances of getting worse?

I am Mellitus type 2, I injected insulin and I take the remedies given by the doc.

sacredly.

- Pantú (@___Pantu__) September 6, 2021

Hello, Pantú, that is a very good question, but the factors that determine that a person infected with the new coronavirus have a mild, moderate or severe illness are not yet known.

From what is known so far, the fully vaccinated people who have had complications from covid-19 are people over 65 years of age.

Keep taking care of your diabetes.

@drhuerta a question my boyfriend tells me that when he has the second dose of spunik he will no longer use MOUTHCOAT with his family that would also be vaccinated if family and in other places if but that is correct? That is why I am worried we live together, and I will use

- Gwen Jonson (@gwen_jonson) September 6, 2021

Hi Gwen, tell your boyfriend that even vaccinated people should continue to protect themselves, especially when they are indoors with no ventilation and with people who do not live in the same household.

The possibility of infection is rare, but it can occur.

Questions about the vaccine and pre-existing diseases

@drhuerta a question my boyfriend tells me that when he has the second dose of spunik he will no longer use MOUTHCOAT with his family that would also be vaccinated if family and in other places if but that is correct? That is why I am worried we live together, and I will use

- Gwen Jonson (@gwen_jonson) September 6, 2021

According to the United States CDC, people who have had Guillain Barré can get vaccinated with Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson.

On the other hand, because Guillain Barré is not a contagious disease, the wife does not have any problems and can also be vaccinated.

Greetings, I am one of those who do not want to be vaccinated, unless I do some general tests, because I have low hemoglobin, I have suffered from respiratory problems, I suffer from rheumatic arthritis problems, therefore, of course, I should not be vaccinated. says Dr.

- BPDI.PFSGILIJRIM.

(@losguaraos) September 6, 2021

Hello, BDPI, I advise you to get vaccinated as soon as you can.

Due to respiratory problems and rheumatoid arthritis, you are at risk of complications if you become infected with the new coronavirus.

Anemia is not a contraindication for vaccination.

Other questions about the covid-19 vaccine

Doctor thanks for everything, which is known from recent studies of the effectiveness of the sinovac vaccine or required boosters.

Thanks

- Adriana Murcia (@ Adriana66635246) September 11, 2021

Good question, Adriana.

The Chilean government announced that it had completed a study for older adults previously vaccinated with CoronaVac, the Sinovac vaccine, to receive a booster dose with AstraZeneca.

@drhuerta Dr. it was reported that some vaccines generated inflammation in the lymph nodes and that could give a false positive in a mammogram.

After when the vaccination time will I be able to do the mammogram and that it reflects the true results?

- Silvia Tely (@SilvyEcuador) September 9, 2021

It's true, Silvia, the messenger RNA vaccines, namely Pfizer and Moderna, can make the lymph nodes in the armpit on the side that was given the vaccine swell.

Although there is no consensus yet, I think that allowing about three months after vaccination could reduce the possibility that these swollen nodes could alter the result of your mammogram.

Anyway, when you get it, tell your doctor that you got the vaccination, and tell him on which shoulder you received the vaccine.

On your mammogram order, your doctor will write down this important detail to help the radiologist interpret the result.

@drhuerta I did a test for quantitative antibody values and it gave me> 250 as a result.

What does this mean?

I have a dose of the vaccine and on Sunday I would have the second dose, can I apply the vaccine?

- Rafael Vela Valencia (@FaLLo_VeLa) September 9, 2021

Hi Rafael, I think you should get vaccinated as soon as you can.

You should know that quantitative antibody tests to see if a vaccine works are not endorsed by either the FDA or the WHO.

As they are not standardized, it is difficult to interpret the results.

Is it true that if I was infected with covid-19, if I take the test 3 or up to 6 months later, if I do the test, will I be positive?

- Stef Diro (@StefDiro) September 8, 2021

Hello Stef, if you mean the common serological tests used to find out if a person has already passed the disease, I say yes.

These tests can continue to be positive for several months after the disease has passed.
