The Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas announced that the countries of the organization have unanimously agreed to provide assistance to Tajikistan in the event of an aggravation of the situation on its border with Afghanistan.
Russia Today website quoted Zass as telling reporters after a joint meeting of foreign and defense ministers and secretaries of the security councils of the OIC countries, "The situation in Afghanistan is of particular concern to the OIC countries," noting that Tajikistan will be provided with all the necessary military and diplomatic assistance in case the situation on the southern border worsens. .
Zass added that the OIC countries called in their joint statement on the international community to expand humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, who are in dire need.
