In Berlin, the 2G rule can in future be used in restaurants and at events.
But one passage caused trouble - and has now been adjusted.
Berlin - Actually, the Berlin Senate had agreed on Tuesday (September 14th) in the fight against the corona virus, like many other federal states, to introduce a strict 2G rule.
This should give restaurant operators, club owners and event organizers the option of only granting vaccinated and convalescent access to their own location.
All other people - including children - would then have to stay outside.
Here the Berlin regulation differed from that in Hamburg, for example.
There was criticism of the decision, one day after the original decision, the Berlin Senate rowed back.
The Corona 2G rule, which will come into force on Saturday (September 18), has been supplemented by an exception for children under the age of twelve.
"These are basically allowed to take part in 2G events and enter and use 2G facilities," said a message from the Senate on Wednesday (September 15).
Children from the age of six are allowed to attend restaurants and events after showing a negative corona test.
Children who are regularly tested as part of school attendance are exempt from the obligation to test.
Corona: Berlin 2G rule receives criticism from Chancellery Minister Braun and the German Children's Fund
The previous 2G regulation had been
criticized
by Chancellery Minister Helge Braun (CDU) on Wednesday morning at
Bild
Live
.
“In the first phase of the pandemic, children and adolescents stood back, especially to protect their grandparents - that is, to protect the elderly from severe disease.
So it is now our responsibility to give that back.
And that is why the restrictions have to be restricted to unvaccinated adults, if they are necessary, ”demanded Braun.
The German Children's Fund had also expressed its displeasure.
Its federal manager Holger Hofmann called the original 2G rule for children without exception, according to
Welt,
“child-hostile and family-hostile”.
In the meantime, the restaurant operators, club owners and event organizers in Berlin are free to decide whether they want to implement them in the future, despite the Corona 2G rule adopted by the Senate. Furthermore, Berlin restaurateurs and event organizers may optionally allow access to their interiors to those who have been vaccinated, recovered and tested (3G) as before. Alternatively, however, 2G can also be used. Then, thanks to the rule update from Wednesday, children under the age of twelve can also be there.
