When it comes to the energy transition, there is “a lot of catching up to do” in the Miesbach district - says EWO energy manager Andreas Scharli.
Nevertheless: He recognizes a rethinking in town halls.
Churches planted in July.
Cities and the district of Miesbach form an energy efficiency network.
Andreas Scharli, Energy Manager at EWO, sees potential for synergies in this.
Even before the first meeting, he draws the first positive conclusions - Scharli recognizes a change of mood.
District - There is good news and bad news when it comes to the energy transition in the Miesbach district. Where "bad" is relative in this case - says Andreas Scharli. The energy manager of the EWO competence center looks after the associated municipalities of the new energy efficiency network. Scharli has good reason to be in a good mood. Because: From the point of view of the employee of the community foundation Energiewende Oberland, the good news can already be found in the network itself. "The cooperation started very motivated."
On the other hand, it says: "We will not manage the energy transition in such a way that you cannot see it." However, nice and bad are subjective.
“And what reason is there that you shouldn't see the energy transition?” As reported, the communities Fischbachau, Gmund, Hausham and Otterfing as well as the city of Tegernsee, the market town of Holzkirchen and the district itself signed a declaration on the establishment of the energy efficiency network at the end of July with the aim of mutual synergies.

Scharli explains: “The first joint meeting will take place on October 5th.” In contrast to the opening event, Scharli does not count on political representatives here, but on technically authorized employees of the communities.
The community foundation had already held talks with the participants beforehand.
What is technically possible?
What has happened already?
“We had a lot of on-site visits,” reveals Scharli.
Some of the data have already been recorded.
"They are now being compared with one another."
Energy turnaround in Fischbachau, Gmund, Otterfing and in the Miesbach district: In some cases, there is a lot of catching up to do
In the
Fischbachau community,
for example, Scharli has already been able to gain “a very good overview”.
The elementary school in Elbach has still installed an old oil heating system.
In addition to switching to pellet heating, there is also a supplementary photovoltaic system (PV) in the room.
“There is the question of what is possible in the household,” says the energy manager.
Glass blocks in the facade are also in focus.
In
Gmund
there are also efforts to install a PV system on the roof of the schools.
“For the municipal council, the question is not whether, but when this will be implemented,” says Scharli.
While the
former mayor
of
Otterfingen,
Jakob Eglseder (CSU), had the energy transition “not at the top of the list” in the eyes of Scharlis, Michael Falkenhahn (SPD) was different.
"We are in contact with quick implementations" - here, too, it is initially about PV systems on communal properties.
It becomes interesting with the decisions of the district office.
Scharli looks at the
county
a "considerable need" - who was also due to the former county architect, according to the energy manager.
“He found photovoltaics terribly ugly.” Now the position is filled again and the group is more open-minded again.
Hausham has received energy coaching - Holzkirchen, Tegernsee and Gmund still without an on-site visit
“For example, there are many options in the Hausham Special Education Center,” says Scharli. A PV system could be equipped with a charging infrastructure for electric buses. “If there are any, the vehicles could be charged there during the breaks.” District climate protection manager Antonia Rüede-Passul explains: “We are currently still at the beginning.” In the planning phase, the first thing to do is to work out the right buildings. “The funding center could have a PV system,” confirms Rüede-Passul. Charging infrastructure is an issue - “in concrete terms, it's about the properties themselves.” Scharli understands that the district is still hesitant to make decisions about e-buses. "This is a completely new dynamic that will also be exciting in terms of budget."
The situation is clearer in
Hausham
: “The community received energy coaching three years ago.” According to Scharli, PV systems on fire brigade and kindergarten roofs are being re-activated.
According to Scharli, there have been no on-site visits
with the market town of
Holzkirchen
, the town of
Tegernsee
and the town of
Gmund
.
“It won't be long now,” says the energy manager.
The network is in contact with all participants.
Overall, the employee recognizes “a completely different mood” in the communities since the last local election.
"The town halls have recognized their role model function." In view of the storm, more communities are aware of their duty.
"The black zero no longer plays the decisive role it used to play."
An overview of energy committees in the Miesbach district
Energy transition Oberland, energy network, EKO, INEV, working groups, climate protection management or consumer center: the thicket of responsible committees and associations is becoming ever denser. Antonia Rüede-Passul, Climate Protection Manager at the Miesbach District Office, has the overview.
She explains: "The
Oberland Energiewende (EWO)
was founded as a community foundation by private individuals and the districts of Miesbach and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen." Meanwhile, Weilheim-Schongau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen are also on board. “The foundation itself takes care of
upland-
wide
projects
, among other things,
and promotes cross-
county cooperation,
” says Rüede-Passul. Organizing meetings of climate protection officers and managers is part of this work. The Foundation also runs the Replace project, which supports the replacement of old heating systems in private households. The EWO Competence Center Energy e. V. EKO. “
EKO
is the place to go to the congregations
being able to place concrete orders
on the topics of sustainability, climate protection and resource protection - such as energy use plans, "explains the district office employee.
The newly established
energy efficiency network
, in which the district is a participant, is also
part of the EWO Foundation
. The
association of municipalities
is supported by
INEV
- the
institute for sustainable energy supply
, which is linked to the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences. At the district level, the
climate protection managers
take care of
projects
in
the Miesbach district
. “This includes, for example, the solar potential register, city cycling or the climate spring, or the support of municipalities in the expansion of wind energy,” says Rüede-Passul.
In the
municipalities
themselves often take care of
working groups
to the ideas on
the community level
. They are responsible for
making suggestions
to the
municipal councils
, for example
. “The
consumer center
provides and coordinates
energy
advice,” explains Rüede-Passul. The position is funded by the federal government. "The
district office
works as an
intermediary
." Rüede-Passul emphasizes that these offices are only a selection. "
Climate protection
is a
joint task
- the more you work on it, the better."
