Thomas Lauer was introduced on Monday as the successor to Maria Mannes.
Due to the corona, the appointment of the new district home nurse was delayed.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - “The District Office has its own monument team that takes care of building applications with a monument-related issue,” explained District Administrator Josef Niedermaier.
This team works closely with the State Office for Monument Protection.
“The voluntary work of the district home keeper is the interface to the region and to the people.” The task is to create understanding for the protection of monuments, “in a district with a density of monuments that few have”.

The district lives not only from the beautiful landscape, said Thomas Lauer, "but also from the buildings that are there." Many people would see that, but often do not know the background.
“I would like to arouse interest in monuments,” said Lauer.
"Monuments must be filled with life."
He is happy about the collegial cooperation with the district builder Andreas Hainz and Christoph Scholter from the State Office for Monument Preservation, said the Gaißacher.
“We are a triumvirate, so to speak.” They help when a structural change is planned to a listed building.

Martin Englert continues to work as a district home carer.
The district council has appointed him for another five years.
He has been filling the post since 2008.
“It gives me great pleasure, it is a huge area.” His area of responsibility is extensive: lectures on various topics such as dialects, culture, customs are just as much a part of it as book chapters, events, guided tours and answering private inquiries.
In addition, Englert maintains the town twinning and organizes music meetings.
Making the roots visible - that is a challenge
Niedermaier asks the citizens to use the offer of the district home nurse.
“Go to the district home nurses.” Those who do not know where they come from cannot shape the modern age.
"That is the greatest challenge - to make the roots visible." He wanted to build a bridge from the past to the future, said Lauer.
“Preserving and shaping” is the key word.
According to the district architect Andreas Hainz, the main concern of the preservation of monuments is to preserve something that is "typical for the time it was built and that is worth protecting".
It is about keeping the typical architectural style true to the original.
In view of the lack of living space, it is understandable that one also wants to change listed buildings, said Niedermaier.
This is also possible.
The essential elements would have to be retained, but could be further developed.
