Nuremberg - On the playground in Annapark in Nuremberg *, citizens can admire a new graffiti work of art.

Mayor Marcus König and the artist Kai Schmidt completed this on Tuesday (14.09.), As the city writes in a message.

The graffiti was created as part of the temporarily designed culture platform KommVorZone, which was designed by the Office for Culture and Leisure (KUF) in the southern point together with the neighborhood from the southern part of the city.

After 100 events and two months, it ended towards the end of July.

Since the round arch on the playground in Annapark was not inviting due to a lot of small graffiti, the volunteer program group of the KommVorZone suggested upgrading the arch.

Lord Mayor Marcus König agreed to upgrade the arch with a graffiti concept and thus increase the quality of stay.

During the course of the project, the KommVorZone contacted graffiti artists from Südstadt.

The choice fell on Kai Schmidt, who grew up in Nuremberg.

The artist completed the graffiti together with the mayor of Nuremberg.

The artist and Nuremberg's mayor ultimately completed the graffiti work of art together.

Nuremberg: Kai Schmidt has been in the scene for years

Kai Schmidt founded a skateboard crew in the late 1990s: the Gleißhammer Skate Posse (GSP).

He spread their abbreviations on the walls of the city, which caused a sensation.

Schmidt therefore had to appear in court and sentenced to prison terms.

Now he only practices his art legally.

For him it is now a special recognition that he was allowed to create the graffiti in Annapark.
