With Alpenflimmern, an event in the Oberland is to be established for the first time in 2021 at two venues, namely in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and in Mittenwald.
With "CineCar - GaPa" from September 17 to September 19 and the "AutoKino unterm Karwendel" from September 23 to September 25, the initiators want to celebrate film culture and its makers again and film for the locals and guests under the Make the motto “Cinema by friends for friends” tangible.
“At the same time, with the 'Werdenfelser Kurzfilmwettbewerb', which the Zugspitz region and Middlewood have been presenting together since last year, we have found a way to establish a special competition that has again produced great films this year. Be curious about the jury's verdict and even take an active part in choosing the audience award ”, promise the organizers.
As with all Middlewood eV events, the focus is on the charitable character and not on making a profit. “The remaining surpluses will be used for charitable purposes, especially in the field of art and culture, as well as for media education projects. So far we have been able to use it to realize several, in some cases award-winning, youth short film projects as a free workshop with children and young people from Mittenwald and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, ”says Christoph Szonn, the first director of Middlewood.
He and his team are particularly pleased that in 2021, as part of “Alpenflimmern”, “CineCar GaPa”, another charitable event project together with the young initiators from Garmisch-Partenkirchen in close cooperation with the JUZ and the support of the cultural promotion of the market could be asked.
