The chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Millie, has been working secretly to limit President Donald Trump's ability to launch a nuclear offensive against China, a new book, parts of which were first unveiled yesterday (Tuesday).

Millie spoke to his Chinese counterpart twice. The first was on October 30, 2020, four days before the election, and again on January 6, two days after the attack on the Capitol. American.

The report is based on the book "Danger," which is due out next week, by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward (who exposed the Watergate affair) and Robert Costa.

According to them, the book relies on interviews with about 200 sources.

According to reports, Millie believed that President Trump suffered a mental decline after the election.

In a phone call held by the combined staff chairman with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, she asked him what would prevent an "unstable" president from attacking a nuclear, and called Trump "crazy."

Millie replied, "I agree with you on everything."

Pelosi also said she had previously talked to Millie about "available precautions" to prevent Trump from initiating military action or ordering a nuclear launch, and said she was assured that long-term defenses exist.

According to the book, Millie called the commander of the unit in charge of Asia and the Pacific, and recommended postponing the upcoming military exercises.

Millie even instructed senior military officers not to take orders from anyone unless he himself is involved in the process, especially in the event that Trump gives an order to launch a nuclear weapon.

Following the announcement, Trump stated that he had never considered attacking China.

The former president added that if the reports were true, then "Millie should be prosecuted for treason, because he acted with his Chinese counterpart behind the president's back, and said he would notify China of an attack."

Trump called Millie "dumb" and claimed the whole story was "fabricated."
