Al-Adiyat Association in Aleppo held a signing ceremony for the book “Aleppo Illuminations” by researcher Abdullah Hajjar, which includes a bouquet of heritage, history, and antiquities, as well as information about Aleppo’s houses, churches and ancient historical monuments.
In a statement to SANA reporter, researcher Hajjar referred to the information contained in his book about Aleppo, its literary, social and economic activity, and the efforts of its people in building the tangible and intangible heritage. The famous people of Aleppo, such as the poet Qustaki Al-Homsi, Gabriel Dalal, Dr. Omar Dakkak and others.
The researcher Hajjar provided in detail unprecedented social information about some houses and churches in the city of Aleppo, such as Dar Ghazala and the Maronite Church, supporting his book with photos and documents that depicted the city and its neighborhoods affected by terrorist attacks, which will help in restoring these ancient archaeological sites by referring to these photos.
Dr. Salah Kazara, a professor at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Aleppo and a member of the Association of Al-Adyat, stressed the importance of this book, as it chronicles the city of Aleppo historically, urban and socially, and is known by many media, especially from foreign researchers who worked in antiquities and discovered archaeological places in Aleppo.
