EU to recognize Israeli vaccine certificate: "Facilitate aviation and tourism"
Recognition of the Israeli certificate will make Israelis accessible the European green label, which allows entry to restaurants, cultural centers and public institutions in EU countries.
At the same time, each state will retain the right to place additional requirements as a condition of entry into its territory.
"An important step in preparing the ground for a return to routine"

Israel and the European Union reached an agreement today (Wednesday) on mutual recognition of a vaccine certificate, which will make it easier for Israeli travelers visiting EU countries.
The recognition will also prepare the ground for the absorption of European tourists in the country.
With the completion of all technical aspects in early October, the recognition of vaccine certificates will allow Israeli citizens holding the Israeli certificate to also have access to the European green label, which allows entry to restaurants, cultural centers, public institutions and more - according to Corona guidelines.
In addition, the agreement reached will allow vaccinated Israelis access to a green label in any other country that joins the EU system, including countries such as Morocco and Turkey.
At the same time, it was noted that mutual recognition is not a substitute for the requirements imposed by each of the EU countries, and the State of Israel itself, for the entry of foreigners.
Therefore, each state will be able to place additional requirements as a condition to approve entry into its territory, such as vaccination, corona testing and isolation.

The agreement was reached in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Embassy in the European Union in Brussels, which worked to create a common technological and political infrastructure.
"The ability to travel and visit the world is a basis for ensuring ties between peoples and countries," Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said in a statement from the Foreign Ministry. "Mutual recognition of the vaccine certificates between Israel and the European Union is an important step in preparing the ground for a return to routine regarding aviation and tourism relations between Israel and the EU.
Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz also welcomed the agreement.
"This is a big step in our effort to make it easier for the public to allow a routine of life alongside the Corona. Europe recognizes an Israeli vaccination certificate, and we recognize a vaccination certificate from European countries. It will allow significant relief in aviation, tourism and economic relations. "For vaccines, while keeping the economy open, culture, studies and jobs. Thank you to the professionals of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the move."
