A new experiment for the branch of the Arab Writers Union in As-Suwayda, through which it tried to combine letter, color and word in an interactive workshop hosted today that combined plastic art, Arabic calligraphy and literary writing to extract aesthetic values ​​from them.

The workshop, which was attended by the plastic artists Nidal Khweis, Generosity of Soldiers, and the calligrapher artist Alaa Nasr, included an open discussion on the history and techniques of calligraphy, the obsessions of the contemporary plastic artist and the relationship between calligraphy and formation, in conjunction with the achievement of oil paintings and Arabic calligraphy, and an attempt by a group of young talents to formulate short literary texts inspired by Other arts directly in front of the public.

The calligrapher artist Alaa Nasr highlighted the privacy of Arabic calligraphy and its types, methods and tools as an art that transcended the boundaries of the word to become part of a plastic painting, pointing out that if it is one of the finest types of abstract painting art, then the letter is an abstract image of the soul and the human being with aesthetic standards that depend on achieving the golden ratio in it.

At the same time, the artist Nidal Khweis drew a painting that simulates the aesthetic impact of the pristine environment in the Jabal Al Arab region, its nature and its volcanic and basaltic terrain, rich in color values ​​and its aesthetic effects on the recipient, pointing to the role of Arabic calligraphy in ancient Arab Islamic formation and contemporary modern formation, while emphasizing that formation and literature are one source to evoke the values ​​of beauty.

While the artist, Sakhaa Soldiers, created a painting that reflects the human condition of a woman living in a state of loss between joy and waiting for a wreath of blackness, waiting to know the fate of her missing husband, stressing that the workshop provided a rich experience and confirmed that art is indivisible and integrated.

While the two young women, Raghad Al Shaar and Yasmine Abu Fakhr, who each wrote a short literary text drawn from the elements of the workshop, saw that their participation in it was a successful and distinguished experience for their ages and their beginnings in writing, in which they tested their ability to derive ideas from paintings, colors and lines.

Head of the Arab Writers Union branch in Sweida, writer Wejdan Abu Mahmoud, indicated that the workshop represents a new experience that brought together various types of arts looking for beauty, through the participation of plastic artists who presented aesthetic artistic visions while at the same time shedding light on Arabic calligraphy with an attempt to link these arts with literature to be an instigator A number of talented young people and their ability to derive ideas for literary texts.

A number of attendees expressed their enjoyment of the event, which combined plastic art, calligraphy and literature together and resulted in multiple aesthetic vocabulary and values, as well as enriching their knowledge of Arabic calligraphy and its origins.
