The extension of the asylum seeker accommodation in Unterhaching should be ready for occupancy in December 2022.

According to the district office, refugee families are supposed to move in.

Unterhaching

- The extension of the refugee accommodation in Hachinger Haid is primarily intended to accommodate families.

This has now become known in the district committee.

Construction work will start next spring.

The 116 asylum seekers are expected to move into their quarters in December 2022.

The cultivation, which was calculated at 5.4 million euros in the summer, is becoming considerably more expensive.

The district office is now assuming 7.4 million euros.

The responsible building department referred to the recent increase of almost 30 percent in the cost of wood.

Comparable cost increases are registered for other trades in the booming construction industry.

The community of Unterhaching approved the extension in July after the district had reduced the number of future residents from an initial 130 to 116.

Quota not met

As an employee of the refugee accommodation department in the district office informed the municipal councils at the July meeting, the extension had become necessary due to difficulties with the quota. The bottom line is that Unterhaching provides enough space. Recognized refugees are excluded from the statistics after three years, which is why the rate in summer was only 76 percent. The problem has been known for years: In the overheated housing market, refugees all too often go empty-handed when looking for affordable housing. As so-called false vouchers, they remain in the accommodation, but are no longer credited to the community.

Parts of the Unterhachingen municipal council only approved the extension with grudges.

The nearby Hachinger Bach generates a potential floodplain.

Although the district office calculated an acceptable risk, there are no alternatives to the Hachinger Haid.

The armed forces area actually favored by the armed forces on Biberger Straße, where the air dome once stood, is only reserved for the armed forces.

Refinancing through grants

At 7.4 million euros, the maximum construction costs have been reached.

The circle is financially in advance.

It is hoped to refinance the construction through a lump sum from the government of Upper Bavaria of just over 400 euros per month and space.

But the calculation only works if the construction costs do not continue to rise.

Planned in an L-shape, the extension encompasses the two existing buildings from the south. Because of the precarious finances, people probably refrain from building the cultivation from wood as sustainably as possible. The property is rented for 15 years. The building is being constructed in a modular manner, so after the time has expired it could be relocated and used elsewhere. The district guarantees sustainability through GEG standards (Building Energy Act) and the connection to the district heating network. There are 22 rooms for two to eight people each. A good half of the living rooms are designed for six people. Each residential unit is planned with a shower and toilet, a lounge area, kitchenette and washing machine. There are also common rooms, a group room,Covered bicycle parking spaces and a storage room for strollers are integrated.
