The construction of the fire station and the sports facility in Günzenhausen will be more expensive than planned.

The building committee has now grudgingly agreed to both.

Eching

- Saving on construction is currently difficult due to rising material costs.

This was also shown when the current plans for the new fire station building and the sports facility in Günzenhausen were presented.

With the latter, the drainage is the main problem, as the two planners of the stock lifts and the FunCourt made clear in the construction committee on Tuesday.

Ilka Siebeneicher and Karina Mathe referred to a larger excavation because of the firmness of the soil.

Saving on construction is not easy at the moment

The FunCourt, a field where football, basketball and tennis can be played, originally did not include any money for drainage. For this alone, additional costs of 90,000 euros are to be expected. The reason is a layer of clay that makes it difficult for the surface water to seep away. The total cost of the sports facility is over 320,000 euros. Originally 150,000 were planned.

In addition to noise protection, which is generally believed to be important, this provided cause for a lively debate in the committee.

Georg Bartl (CSU) said that one should clearly consider "a huge effort".

Mayor Sebastian Thaler said: “The ideal of low costs unites us all.” However, he pointed out that the members of a club that was yet to be founded would have agreed to build the club house, down to the base plate, on their own.

Wallner (CSU) and Seiffert (SPD) agree: The committee has to say yes

Bernhard Wallner (CSU) suggested, due to the lack of an alternative location, "to bite the bullet". He received support from Carsten Seiffert (SPD). You couldn't do anything better with the site. He advised "urgently to advocate this". In the end, the committee approved the plans without exception.

The same finally applied to the new building of the Günzenhausen fire station.

And that although Alexander Krimmer (ÖDP) initially had a different opinion.

"I cannot agree," he made clear, referring to the cost development of the 700 square meter fire station.

"It started at 2.3 million euros, then we agreed on three million," complained Krimmer of the "salami tactics".

He criticized the fact that, despite a cost cap, price increases of three percent should now occur again.

Representatives of the responsible planning office had attributed the additional costs to two additional rooms and an expansion of the photovoltaic roofs.

Warning words from the building authorities

Building authority manager Thomas Bimesmeier warned against starting all over again.

Rescheduling also costs money.

Christoph Gürtner (FW) saw it similarly: “I can no longer see any golden taps, the savings potential has been exhausted.” After that, everyone agreed.

With the addition that the administration is authorized to apply for the building permit immediately.
