A mistake crept in with the time measurement during the TV triall on ARD and ZDF.
How serious this is is now known.
Berlin - Annalena Baerbock did not miss the detail: "Mr. Scholz's clock is still running," said the Green Chancellor candidate at the second TV triumph shortly before the federal election.
ARD and ZDF struggled with technical problems during the broadcast of the exchange of blows between the candidates for chancellor.
The speaking time of the participants was measured to ensure equal opportunities.
Moderator Maybritt Illner emphasized in several places that the shares of Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet, SPD Chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz and Baerbock were roughly evenly distributed.
But that was obviously not the case.
Even when the technical problems were announced as solved after Baerbock's reprimand.

After about halfway through the triall, the timing was faded in for the first time - Baerbock was almost three minutes ahead.
That seemed strange to users on social media.
In fact, the error seems to have run through the entire program.
This was reported first by the media
magazine Übermedien
, which subsequently checked the speaking times.
As a result, the Green politician had 21 minutes and 37 seconds speaking time during the entire broadcast, almost four minutes less than Scholz with 25 minutes and 30 seconds.
And just under three minutes less than Laschet with 24 minutes and 14 seconds.
The victim of the mistake is therefore Baerbock, who had the least speaking time.

The speaking times shown by the broadcaster, however, appeared different.
With a speaking time of 26:25 minutes, Armin Laschet spoke two minutes more than Scholz (24:39) and Baerbock (24:25).
ARD and ZDF confirmed to

that the result at the end of the program was not correct.

An ARD spokesman told the media magazine that the moderator had already pointed out during the TV triall that there was a problem with the time measurement.
“There was a software error behind this.
The timekeeping was then also carried out by hand. "
They also announced their result after the recount: “In the end, Olaf Scholz had a speaking time of 24:51, Armin Laschet 24:13 minutes, so only 38 seconds apart.
Ms. Baerbock, on the other hand, had about three minutes less speaking. "
