Horacio Rodríguez Larreta on the crisis in the Government: 'It is an internal issue that they must resolve'

The head of the Buenos Aires government assured that he did not speak with anyone from the Government. He announced new flexibilities.

In the midst of the crisis of the national government, with the resignation of various ministers as pressure on President Alberto Fernández after the hard blow in the PASO, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta made his second public appearance

after the elections in which Together for Change was the clear winner.

When asked about the government crisis, after the wave of resignations of officials close to Cristina Kirchner, he stated: "It is an internal issue that they must resolve."

Then he assured that he had no communication with anyone from the ruling party.

"I am totally against any offense, insult, aggression. I do not think it is what Argentina needs, in any way," he said when asked about the audio in which deputy K Fernando Vallejos launches harsh criticism against Alberto Fernández.

On Sunday Larreta was highlighted as the great winner of the PASO.

He was successful in

his move to put the former Buenos Aires governor María Eugenia Vidal as a candidate for deputy for the City.

And also for locating the former deputy head of the Buenos Aires government, Diego Santilli, as a pre-candidate in the Province and not only beat Facundo Manes in the internal but also prevailed in the most important territory of the country.

On the day of the election he preferred not to speak and hours later he called a press conference in which he assured that Together for Change is the only one capable of "saying enough to Kirchnerism."

This Thursday he also called the media to give details on the progress of the

plan to return to normal

after the drop in coronavirus cases.

In this context, he gave encouraging data: "After a very tough second wave in which we had days with more than 3,500 cases, the average number of daily cases for the last week is 2," said the head of government.

Larreta announced that, as of this Friday, social gatherings, both indoors and outdoors, will no longer have a maximum number of people.

Commercial activity, whether on the street or in shopping malls, and gastronomic establishments, cease to have capacity.

The normal operation of professional activities is also enabled, including public administration and the common spaces of buildings and hotels. 

In addition to Larreta, the conference was attended by the Chief of Staff, Felipe Miguel;

the Minister of Public Space and Urban Hygiene, Clara Muzzio;

the Minister of Health, Fernán Quirós;

the Minister of Culture, Enrique Avogadro;

the Minister of Economic Development and Production, José Luis Giusti, and the Secretary of Transportation and Public Works, Juan José Mendez.

City choice


In the PASO on Sunday, María Eugenia Vidal (Together for Change) prevailed in the elections in the City of Buenos Aires followed by Leandro Santoro (Frente de Todos), while Javier Milei (La Libertad Avanza) was the surprise in the elections that define the candidates for national deputies.

With 98.6% of the votes counted, the former governor of the Province of Buenos Aires obtained the highest percentage of votes in the Juntos por el Cambio intern: 68.3%.

His list (Together We Are More) competed with the list headed by Ricardo López Murphy (United Republicans) and with the one headed by Adolfo Rubinstein (Adelante Ciudad).

The strength of the former Minister of Economy reaped 23.3% in the internal, while the former Health official reached 8.3% (it was planned that 15% would be the cut to see which spaces the ordering in the final coalition ballot).

In this way, Together for Change reached 48.2% of the votes in the total of the City.

He got almost 24 points against Frente de Todos.

In addition, in the total count, Vidal herself emerged as the most elected candidate, with 33%.
