The IDF identified a suspect who crossed the border fence between the two countries in the area of the city of Metula • He was arrested and transferred for further investigation by security forces • Earlier this week there was a similar case in which a suspect was identified while climbing the fence

IDF observations identified a suspect who crossed from Lebanon to Israeli territory in the area of the town of Metula during Yom Kippur (Thursday).

The unusual incident occurred in the early afternoon, when a man was spotted crossing the fence in the northern city area.

City resident Elias Saman, a police officer on duty, identified the Lebanese ahead of time before crossing and called the Rabshakeh.

As you may recall, a similar incident took place last Sunday in an attempt to cross the fence, after an unidentified person approached the fence from Lebanese territory. IDF forces identified the man as he climbed the fence from Lebanon to Israel. Soldiers jumped to the spot and the man retraced his steps and then the fighters conducted searches in the area. There was no intrusion into Israeli territory.
