The government will distribute nearly 50 million reusable textile masks to 7.5 million precarious people, Minister of Public Accounts Olivier Dussopt announced Thursday, September 16.

The government will initiate "

", said the minister on Sud Radio, as part of the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.
“
7.5 million French people
” in a precarious situation will thus receive batches of textile masks, added Olivier Dussopt.
This distribution of washable masks 50 times concerns beneficiaries of complementary solidarity health or state medical aid.
It will take place in October, the ministry told AFP.
Several similar operations have already taken place since the start of the health crisis in March 2020.

We are reconstituting, still in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, the strategic stock of more than 140 million masks. (...) It requires purchases. I validated the purchase of almost 50 million masks a few days ago, both so that stocks are at the right level and to face distribution needs,
”said Olivier Dussopt, also referring to the distribution of 10 million masks to public officials.
