Damascus-SANA

39 years since the Sabra and Shatila massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Beirut on this day, which claimed the lives of thousands of innocent Palestinian people, and the crimes and massacres of the occupation, which amount to crimes against humanity and ongoing war crimes against the Palestinians amid shameful international silence.

The massacre was one of the most horrific things written in the history of the entire world and took place with prior planning by the occupation forces, which set out in the dark on the night of September 16, 1982 to commit murders that lasted for 48 hours with the complicity of groups from the “Lebanese Forces” militia and the so-called “South Lebanon Army.” “The client is against the Palestinians and the Lebanese residing in the Shatila camp and the neighboring Sabra neighborhood.

The mechanisms of the Israeli occupation closed the entrances to escape in the camp and did not allow entry until after the massacre ended on the eighteenth of September so that the world woke up to one of the most heinous massacres in history and found thousands of dead bodies of women, children and the elderly who were killed in a way that is shameful to humanity.

The Israeli occupation forces threw light bombs that night over the crime scene, while militia members began to encircle the residents of the camp and kill hundreds of them with horrific methods, as they shot everyone who moved in the alleys. Court, and none of them was punished for what they committed, and the matter was limited to investigation committees that reached results that were not followed by legal follow-up.

The number of martyrs who fell as victims of this massacre is not yet clear. Estimates indicate the death of about 7000 martyrs. Pictures of children who are not more than three and four years old while they are in their pajamas and their covers stained with their blood, and the families killed by the occupation forces while they slept, remain a living witness that will not go away and evidence of ugliness. This crime, which in its cruelty simulates all the massacres committed by the occupation against the Palestinians, was preceded by the massacres of Qibiya, Deir Yassin and Al-Tantora, followed by the massacre of Jenin camp and Qana, the massacres of Gaza and others.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to this day their criminal practices against the Palestinian people, including arrests, killings, settlements, razing lands, sieges, etc., in light of shameful international silence and blatant Western bias.
